Our Mission
Michael’s Mission is focused on improving the quality of life and treatment options for those suffering from colorectal cancer through education, research and patient support.
Michael’s Mission is a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. Funds raised go to patient care and support and research initiatives led by a medical advisory board comprised of leading physicians.
Our Programs
Michael’s Mission programs and services include:
Patient Navigator Program
The Michael’s Mission Patient Navigator Program assists patients, caregivers and their families throughout the cancer care continuum.
Patient & Caregiver Mentor Program
The Michael’s Mission Patient & Mentor Program provides patients, and their caregivers a safe place to share thoughts and feelings with an oncology social worker who is trained to help patients better manage psychological issues that arise during treatment.
Medically Underserved Education and Outreach
We demand federal funding for research and advocate for legislative support by lifting up our voices to keep pancreatic cancer at the forefront on Capitol Hill.
#OneVoice Program
The Michael’s Mission #OneVoice Program is a topic-driven blog series written by patients, caregivers, industry leaders, and healthcare professionals in the colon cancer community.
Patient and Family Support
The Michael’s Mission Patient & Family Support Program provides patients and their caregivers a safe place to share thoughts and feelings with an oncology social worker who is trained to help patients better manage psychological issues that arise during treatment.
Support Resources
Michael’s Mission has curated a library of web-based and other resources for patients, families and caregivers to easily access information on a wide variety of subjects related to colorectal cancer. Cancer treatment touches so many different aspects of life; Michael’s Mission will be a clearinghouse of information on clinical trials, complementary therapies, quality of life issues,managing side effects, financial questions, end of life concerns and survivorship.
